Reply with quote | #1 | Carl, Janine, Kyle, Ilene, Drew, and myself ran Surf the Murph this morning.
Carl ran the 50 mile, which started an hour before us so we unfortunately didn't get to see him
Janine I saw a bunch and she looked great!! I am super impressed by you guys because this was a hard course and I couldn't imagine running in 2 let alone, 3 times!
It was very fun and great to catch up with Ilene and Kyle. Drew left us in our dust this morning, must have been that tutu costume he was wearing that made him so fast!!
It was cool to start in the dark with a headlamp.
We definitely had our fair share of hills, rocks, roots, and LOTS of mud!!
I did take a digger for the team, BUT not to worry I only landed in mud and I was really fine but did almost lose a shoe a few times, ha!
It was definitely hard to see those rocks and roots under the leaves and made things kinda slippery, I felt like I was tripping more than I ever have at Afton....but this was VERY fun and a must do!!
Put it on the calendar for next year and a costume contest is a MUST!!

Reply with quote | #2 | Glad you had fun Amy and hope the others did also.
Overall it looked to be a good race. They added a southern section this year, turned out to be less hills, but more mud after this rainy week. There are a few kinks to improve to make the race logistics more flow more smoothly. I had a challenge finding my aid station in the dark so missed the 25K runners, although was able to see them at the start.
It is a great course and fun group to run with, so agree, its on my list for next year. cheers |

I need a picture of Drew in his Tutu. The little girl that lent him the tutu asked for a picture as payment. You can email it to me at Kris@lamosse.com
Thank you! |

Reply with quote | #5 | Paul- I don't think that Kyle referred to this year's route as having "less hills"- I am pretty sure when we were hiking up that steep muddy hill towards the end that she said quite the opposite
Kris- I unfortunately didn't have my camera and Drew swears that the guy with the camera did not take pictures, but I am sure there is a picture hanging out somewhere...I WILL find it!! |
